Cookie & Storage Policy

Last updated: March 10, 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit. They allow the website to recognize your browser on subsequent visits and remember certain information about your preferences or past actions. Cookies have been widely used on the internet for many years to improve usability and functionality.

Beyond traditional cookies, modern browsers support several related storage technologies that serve similar purposes:

  • Session Cookies: Temporary cookies that are deleted when you close your browser. They are typically used to maintain your session as you navigate between pages.
  • Persistent Cookies: Cookies that remain on your device for a set period or until you manually delete them. They are used to remember your preferences across visits.
  • localStorage: A browser-based key-value storage mechanism that persists until explicitly cleared. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is not automatically sent to the server with every request — it lives entirely on your device. This makes it more private by default.
  • sessionStorage: Similar to localStorage but cleared automatically when you close the browser tab.

CAOasisGaming primarily uses localStorage for essential functionality, meaning very little data is transmitted to our servers in connection with preference storage. This approach is intentionally privacy-conscious.

2. Types of Storage We Use

We categorize the storage technologies used on the Platform into two types:

2.1 Essential Storage

Essential storage is strictly necessary for the Platform to function correctly and to comply with legal requirements. These items cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality. They do not require your consent under applicable privacy law, though we are transparent about their use here.

Essential storage on CAOasisGaming includes:

  • The age verification record, which prevents us from displaying age-restricted content to visitors who have not confirmed they are 18 or older;
  • The cookie consent record, which stores your preference regarding non-essential cookies so you are not repeatedly prompted.

2.2 Functional / Analytics Storage

Functional and analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform, identify popular content, diagnose technical issues, and improve overall performance. These are only placed if you have consented through the cookie consent banner. They may include:

  • Analytics cookies from third-party providers (e.g., anonymized page-view tracking);
  • Advertising cookies from our advertising partners, used to serve relevant advertisements (see Section 5 for more details).

You are always free to decline functional cookies without any degradation in your ability to access and enjoy the Platform's games and content.

3. LocalStorage Reference Table

The following table provides a complete reference to all localStorage keys used by the Platform. This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers as part of normal Platform operation.

Key Name Category Purpose Data Stored Duration
caoasisgaming_age_verified Essential Records that the user has confirmed they are 18 years of age or older. Suppresses the age verification modal on return visits so users are not repeatedly asked to verify their age. Boolean value (true) Persistent — remains until you manually clear your browser's localStorage.
caoasisgaming_cookie_consent Essential Records the user's response to the cookie consent banner — either "accepted" or "declined" for non-essential cookies. Prevents the consent banner from reappearing on subsequent visits and governs whether optional analytics or advertising cookies are loaded. String value ("accepted" or "declined") Persistent — remains until you manually clear your browser's localStorage.

These are the only localStorage entries written by the Platform's own code. Third-party scripts loaded on the Platform (such as advertising networks) may write their own storage entries subject to your consent and their respective privacy policies.

4. Managing Your Browser Storage

You have full control over the cookies and localStorage data on your device. Below are instructions for managing storage in the most commonly used browsers. Note that clearing the CAOasisGaming localStorage entries will cause the age verification and cookie consent prompts to reappear on your next visit.

Google Chrome

  1. Click the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of your browser.
  2. Select Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data.
  3. Click See all site data and permissions and search for caoasisgaming.com.
  4. Click the trash icon next to the site to delete all associated data, or use the developer tools (F12 > Application tab > Local Storage) to remove specific keys.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the three-line menu icon and select Settings.
  2. Navigate to Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
  3. Click Manage Data, search for caoasisgaming.com, and click Remove Selected.
  4. Alternatively, open the developer tools (F12 > Storage tab > Local Storage) to manage individual keys.

Apple Safari

  1. Click Safari in the menu bar and select Settings (or Preferences).
  2. Go to the Privacy tab and click Manage Website Data.
  3. Search for caoasisgaming.com and click Remove.
  4. For more granular control, use Develop > Show Web Inspector > Storage tab (you may need to enable the Develop menu in Advanced settings).

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the three-dot menu icon and select Settings.
  2. Navigate to Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data.
  3. Click See all cookies and site data, search for caoasisgaming.com, and delete the relevant entries.
  4. For individual key management, use the developer tools (F12 > Application tab > Local Storage).

You may also configure your browser to block all cookies or localStorage writes. However, doing so may prevent certain features of the Platform from functioning correctly, including the age verification and consent mechanisms.

5. Third-Party Cookies

In addition to the storage we manage directly, certain third-party services integrated into the Platform may place their own cookies or use similar tracking technologies on your device. These third parties operate under their own privacy policies and are responsible for their own data practices.

Third-party services that may set cookies on CAOasisGaming include:

  • Advertising Networks: If you have consented to advertising cookies, our advertising partners may place cookies to serve contextually relevant advertisements and measure their effectiveness. We prohibit our advertising partners from using these cookies to collect sensitive personal information or to target advertisements based on sensitive categories. See our Advertising Terms for the full list of prohibited ad categories.
  • Analytics Services: If you have consented to analytics, a third-party analytics provider may set cookies to help us understand aggregate traffic patterns. We require these providers to respect your privacy and not use collected data for their own independent commercial purposes.
  • Content Delivery Networks: CDN providers may set technical cookies for load balancing or security purposes. These do not track you across websites.

We review our third-party partners periodically to ensure their practices align with our commitment to your privacy. If we add new categories of third-party cookies, we will update this policy and, where required, seek your fresh consent.

6. Your Opt-Out Options

You have several options for controlling the cookies and storage technologies used when you visit CAOasisGaming:

  • Cookie Consent Banner: When you first visit the Platform, you will be shown a cookie consent banner. Clicking "Decline" will prevent the loading of non-essential analytics and advertising cookies. This choice is recorded in the caoasisgaming_cookie_consent localStorage key. You can change your preference at any time by clearing this key and revisiting the site.
  • Browser Settings: As described in Section 4, you can use your browser's built-in tools to clear, block, or manage cookies and localStorage data at any time.
  • Advertising Opt-Out: For interest-based advertising opt-outs, you may use the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC) opt-out tool at youradchoices.ca. Note that opting out of interest-based advertising does not mean you will see fewer ads — it means the ads you see may be less tailored to your interests.
  • Do Not Track: Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. While we respect the spirit of DNT, there is currently no universal industry standard for responding to DNT signals. We will update this policy if a standard emerges.

Declining non-essential cookies will not impact your ability to access and enjoy our games. The Platform is fully functional for entertainment purposes even with only essential localStorage in use.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie & Storage Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use, our business practices, or applicable law. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.

We encourage you to review this page periodically. If we make material changes to how we use cookies or storage — for example, if we add a new category of third-party cookies — we will re-display the cookie consent banner to allow you to review and respond to the updated practices.

The current version of this policy is always accessible at caoasisgaming.com/cookies.html. By continuing to use the Platform after any updates, you accept the revised policy.
