Advertising Terms

Last updated: March 10, 2026

1. Overview

CAOasisGaming is a completely free platform. To sustain the costs of operating, maintaining, and improving the Platform — including our game library, server infrastructure, and community features — we may display third-party advertisements to users.

We want to be transparent about how advertising works on the Platform. This Advertising Terms page explains who our advertising partners are, the standards we apply to the ads that appear on the Platform, what categories of advertising we absolutely prohibit, and how you can manage your advertising preferences.

Our advertising philosophy is straightforward: ads on CAOasisGaming should be relevant, respectful, and clearly distinguishable from Platform content. We do not allow advertising that conflicts with our values, misleads users, or undermines the safe and enjoyable environment we have worked to build.

Advertising on the Platform is always subject to your cookie consent. If you have declined advertising cookies, third-party personalized advertisements will not be served to you. You may see contextual advertising (based on the content of the page rather than your personal data) regardless of your cookie preference, as contextual ads do not rely on tracking.

2. Who We Partner With

We work with reputable third-party advertising networks and technology providers to display advertisements on the Platform. Our advertising partners are selected based on their reputation for responsible advertising practices, their compliance with applicable Canadian advertising regulations, and their respect for user privacy.

Our advertising relationships may include:

  • Display Ad Networks: Networks that serve banner and display advertisements based on the context of the page content and, where consented to, user interest signals;
  • Programmatic Ad Exchanges: Technology platforms that facilitate real-time bidding for ad inventory, enabling relevant ads to be served efficiently;
  • Direct Advertisers: Brands or organizations that have entered into a direct advertising arrangement with us to display content to our community.

All advertising partners must agree to comply with our Advertising Standards (Section 3) and prohibited ad categories (Section 4) as a condition of accessing our ad inventory. We do not accept advertising from partners who do not meet our standards.

We review our advertising partnerships regularly. If an ad appearing on the Platform seems inconsistent with our stated standards, we encourage you to report it to us at hello@caoasisgaming.com. We take such reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

3. Advertising Standards

All advertising displayed on CAOasisGaming must comply with the following standards. These standards apply to all advertising partners and all ad formats served on the Platform:

Truthfulness and Accuracy

All advertisements must be truthful, accurate, and not misleading. Claims made in advertisements must be substantiated. Advertisers may not use false or misleading representations, deceptive pricing, hidden fees, or other dishonest tactics.

Clear Identification

All advertisements displayed on the Platform must be clearly and unambiguously identified as advertising. They must be visually distinguishable from editorial or Platform content. We do not permit "native ads" that are designed to deceive users into believing they are editorial content.

Compliance with Law

All advertisements must comply with applicable Canadian laws and regulations, including the Competition Act, the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) guidelines, and the standards of Advertising Standards Canada.

Appropriate Content

Given that our Platform is designed for adults 18+, advertisements must be appropriate for an adult general audience. They must not contain content that is gratuitously violent, sexually explicit, or designed to shock or disturb.

No Malware or Harmful Code

Advertisements must not contain or link to malware, spyware, phishing pages, or any other harmful code or content. We actively monitor for malicious advertising and will terminate relationships with any partner found to be distributing harmful ad content.

Privacy Compliance

Advertising partners who use cookies or similar tracking technologies must comply with PIPEDA and all applicable privacy laws. They must respect users' consent choices and must not collect data beyond what is necessary for the stated advertising purpose.

4. Prohibited Ad Categories

The following categories of advertising are strictly prohibited on CAOasisGaming, regardless of the advertising partner or format. These prohibitions are non-negotiable and reflect our core commitment to our community's wellbeing and the integrity of the Platform:

Real-Money Gaming and Gambling

Advertisements for real-money online casino games, sports betting, poker, bingo, lottery, or any other form of real-money wagering are strictly prohibited. This prohibition is a direct reflection of our identity as a free, non-gambling entertainment platform. We do not want our community to be exposed to advertising that could blur the line between our free social arcade and real-money gambling services.

Adult Content

Advertisements containing sexually explicit content, nudity, or adult-oriented entertainment services are strictly prohibited. While our Platform is for adults 18+, we maintain a family-friendly advertising standard consistent with mainstream Canadian media.

Deceptive or Misleading Advertising

Advertisements that use deceptive tactics — including fake news stories, false celebrity endorsements, misleading before-and-after imagery, or clickbait designed to deceive users — are prohibited. This includes ads using "dark patterns" to trick users into clicking or engaging unintentionally.

Tobacco, Vaping, and Cannabis

Advertisements for tobacco products, e-cigarettes, vaping devices, and recreational cannabis are prohibited, consistent with Canada's advertising regulations under the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act and the Cannabis Act.

Prescription Drugs and Unapproved Health Claims

Advertisements for prescription medications, or for health products making unapproved or unsubstantiated medical claims, are prohibited. All health-related advertising must comply with Health Canada guidelines.

Weapons and Violence

Advertisements for firearms, ammunition, weapons, or services promoting violence are prohibited.

Hate Speech and Discrimination

Advertisements containing or promoting hate speech, discrimination, or content that targets individuals or groups based on protected characteristics are prohibited.

Financial Scams and Get-Rich-Quick Schemes

Advertisements promoting pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing opportunities making unsubstantiated income claims, cryptocurrency pump-and-dump schemes, or other financial fraud are strictly prohibited.

5. Ad Display and Placement

We are thoughtful about where and how advertisements are displayed on the Platform. Our goal is to integrate advertising in a way that is sustainable for the Platform while minimizing disruption to the user experience:

  • Ad Placement: Advertisements are placed in designated areas of the Platform — typically banner positions in page headers, sidebars, or between content sections. Ads are never overlaid on gameplay in a way that obstructs the game experience;
  • Ad Frequency: We limit the frequency with which any individual advertisement is shown to a single user, to avoid an experience that feels intrusive or repetitive;
  • Ad Labelling: All advertisements are clearly labelled with terms such as "Advertisement," "Sponsored," or "Ad" to ensure users always know what is paid content;
  • No Auto-Playing Audio: We do not permit advertisements with auto-playing audio, as this is disruptive to users who may be playing games;
  • No Forced Interaction: We do not display advertisements that require users to interact with them to proceed to content, unless the user has explicitly chosen to engage with an optional rewarded ad format.

6. Opting Out of Personalized Ads

You have the right to control whether your browsing behaviour is used to serve you personalized (interest-based) advertisements. Here is how to manage your preferences:

  • Cookie Consent: If you declined advertising cookies in the cookie consent banner, interest-based advertising cookies will not be loaded. You can reset your preference by clearing the caoasisgaming_cookie_consent localStorage key via your browser's developer tools, then declining again on your next visit;
  • DAA Canada Opt-Out: The Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC) provides an industry-level opt-out tool that lets you opt out of interest-based advertising from multiple participating advertisers simultaneously. Visit youradchoices.ca to use this tool;
  • Network Advertising Initiative: The NAI opt-out tool is available at optout.networkadvertising.org;
  • Browser Privacy Settings: Most modern browsers allow you to block third-party cookies entirely, which prevents interest-based ad targeting at the browser level. See Section 4 of our Cookie & Storage Policy for browser-specific instructions.

Please note that opting out of personalized ads does not mean you will see no advertising at all. You may still see contextual advertisements that are selected based on the page content rather than your personal browsing history. Opting out simply means the ads you see are not tailored to your individual interests.
