1. Our Community Values
CAOasisGaming is more than a collection of games — it is a community of adults who share a love of free, social arcade entertainment. The quality of our community is what makes the Platform genuinely enjoyable for everyone. These Community Guidelines exist to articulate the values we expect all members to share and to explain how we maintain an environment that is safe, respectful, and fun.
Our community is built on four core values:
- Respect: We treat every member of our community with dignity, regardless of background, skill level, opinion, or identity. Disagreement and friendly competition are natural; disrespect and hostility are not.
- Fairness: We play by the rules — both the Platform's rules and the spirit of fair play. We do not seek unfair advantages, exploit technical issues, or undermine the experience of others.
- Honesty: We represent ourselves authentically. We do not impersonate others, spread misinformation, or engage in deceptive conduct of any kind.
- Inclusivity: Our community welcomes adults from all walks of life across Canada and beyond. We actively work to ensure that no one feels unwelcome, excluded, or targeted based on who they are.
By using the Platform, you are joining this community and agreeing to uphold these values in all your interactions — whether through comments, leaderboard names, profile content, or any other form of participation.
2. Accepted Behaviour
We want the CAOasisGaming community to be a place where people genuinely enjoy spending time. The following behaviours reflect what great community membership looks like:
Sportsmanship and Fair Play
Whether you are topping the leaderboard or just starting out, approach the games with a spirit of genuine play. Celebrate your own successes without putting others down. Acknowledge when others play well. Compete enthusiastically but graciously.
Constructive and Positive Interaction
When engaging in any social features of the Platform — comments, forums, community discussions — contribute positively. Share tips, express encouragement, ask genuine questions, and offer thoughtful perspectives. Constructive criticism, delivered respectfully, is always welcome.
Respecting Diverse Perspectives
Our community includes people with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints. Engage with different perspectives with curiosity and openness rather than hostility. You do not have to agree with everyone, but you do need to treat them with respect.
Responsible Use of Community Features
Use community features — leaderboards, comments, profiles, and any social tools — for their intended purposes. Keep content relevant, appropriate, and in the spirit of entertainment. Choose display names and profile content that are inoffensive and community-appropriate.
Reporting in Good Faith
If you use our reporting tools (described in Section 4), do so honestly and in good faith. Reports help us maintain a healthy community. False or bad-faith reports waste resources and can harm innocent users.
3. Prohibited Behaviour
The following behaviours are strictly prohibited on CAOasisGaming. Violations may result in content removal, access restrictions, or permanent bans, as described in Section 5.
Harassment and Abuse
We have zero tolerance for harassment of any kind. This includes threatening, intimidating, bullying, stalking, or repeatedly targeting another user in a way that causes distress. Harassment via any Platform feature — names, comments, messages — is prohibited.
Hate Speech and Discrimination
Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic is strictly forbidden. This includes slurs, dehumanizing language, and dog-whistle terminology.
Impersonation and Deception
Do not impersonate CAOasisGaming staff, other users, public figures, or any other person or entity. Do not create accounts or profiles designed to deceive others about who you are or who you represent.
Cheating and Exploitation
Using bots, scripts, hacks, exploits, or any other unauthorized tools to gain an unfair advantage in our games or community features is strictly prohibited. This includes artificially inflating leaderboard scores, using automation to spam interactions, or exploiting known bugs to gain advantage rather than reporting them.
Spam and Unsolicited Promotion
Do not use the Platform to distribute spam, unsolicited advertisements, referral links, or promotional content. This applies to all community features and any channel through which users can publish content.
Illegal Content and Activity
Do not use the Platform to share, distribute, or facilitate any content or activity that is illegal under Canadian law or the laws of your jurisdiction. This includes but is not limited to: content that violates copyright, content that facilitates fraud, and any activity that constitutes a criminal offence.
Harmful or Offensive Content
Do not post, share, or display content that is obscene, sexually explicit, excessively violent, or otherwise offensive to a reasonable person. This applies to display names, profile content, and any other user-generated content on the Platform.
Interference with Platform Operations
Do not attempt to access, disrupt, or interfere with the Platform's systems, servers, or networks. Do not conduct denial-of-service attacks, attempt to breach security measures, or otherwise disrupt the availability or integrity of the Platform for other users.
4. Reporting Violations
We rely on our community to help us identify and address violations of these Guidelines. If you encounter content or behaviour that you believe violates these Guidelines, please report it using one of the following methods:
- In-Platform Reporting: Where available, use the report function built into community features to flag specific content or user behaviour. Provide as much context as possible.
- Email Report: Send a detailed report to hello@caoasisgaming.com. Include a description of the violation, the relevant username or content, and any screenshots or other evidence that may help us investigate.
- Phone: For urgent matters, you may contact us at +1 647-555-0183 during business hours.
All reports are treated confidentially. We will not disclose your identity to the person being reported. While we investigate every report we receive, we are not able to provide individual updates on the outcome of every investigation due to privacy constraints.
We take reports seriously and aim to conduct initial reviews of reported content within 48 hours of receipt. More complex investigations may take longer. Thank you for helping keep our community safe.
5. Consequences
Violations of these Community Guidelines may result in a range of consequences, applied at our sole discretion and proportionate to the nature and severity of the violation. Possible consequences include:
- Content Removal: Offending content (display names, comments, profile information) will be removed from the Platform;
- Warning: For minor first-time violations, we may issue an informal warning without further action;
- Temporary Restriction: Access to specific Platform features (such as community areas) may be temporarily suspended while we investigate a reported violation or following a confirmed violation;
- Permanent Ban: Severe, repeated, or egregious violations — including hate speech, harassment campaigns, cheating at scale, or illegal activity — may result in permanent restriction of access to the Platform;
- Legal Action: In cases involving illegal activity, threats, or significant harm, we reserve the right to refer matters to law enforcement or take legal action.
We recognize that context matters. We will make good-faith efforts to investigate reported violations thoroughly before applying consequences. However, for content posing immediate harm to users, we may act quickly to remove content or restrict access before completing a full investigation.
CAOasisGaming is not obligated to provide advance notice before taking action on violations. Our ability to maintain a safe community for all users depends on the ability to act promptly when necessary.
6. Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision made about your account or content was incorrect or unfair, you have the right to appeal. We take appeals seriously and are committed to fair, consistent enforcement of these Guidelines.
To submit an appeal:
- Send an email to hello@caoasisgaming.com with the subject line "Community Guidelines Appeal";
- Clearly describe the action taken (e.g., content removed, access restricted) and when it occurred;
- Explain why you believe the action was incorrect, providing any relevant context or evidence;
- Include any relevant usernames, timestamps, or content identifiers that may help us locate the relevant records.
We aim to review all appeals within 7 business days. Appeals are reviewed by a different team member than the person who made the original decision, where possible, to help ensure impartiality. We will communicate our final decision via email. The outcome of an appeal process is final.
Please note that we are not able to accept appeals for bans resulting from confirmed illegal activity, serious threats of harm, or clear and unambiguous violations of the most serious prohibited behaviours described in Section 3.
7. Updates to These Guidelines
Our community and the Platform will evolve over time, and our Community Guidelines will evolve with them. We reserve the right to update, modify, or expand these Guidelines at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage all community members to review the Guidelines periodically to stay informed of the standards that govern our shared space. For significant changes, we may display a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
If you have suggestions for how these Guidelines could be improved, or if you feel a particular type of harmful behaviour is not adequately addressed, please share your feedback with us at hello@caoasisgaming.com. Community input helps us make the Platform better for everyone.
These Guidelines should be read alongside our Terms of Service, which together form the complete framework governing your participation in the CAOasisGaming community. In the event of any conflict between these Guidelines and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service will prevail.
